Friday morning I nearly did a major impulse buy - a tumble dryer:o. Fed up with drying clothes preventing the heat from getting to the rest of the living room!
They'd sold the last one the evening before.... had a run on them for some reason:sneaky: |

Having spent a week in the Orkney Islands recently I was glad to get back to Spain which is at least three times cheaper for almost everything I bought there. Mind you Orkney is probably the most expensive place in the UK. Good luck Rags to Riches optimism is the key to success. I hope you can spell grammar. Elspeth

Thought it'd be worth mentioning - I DID do this, there were ups and downs, but some of the more negative comments on this forum were far from warranted. Positivity and optimisim are how you make these things work.
Finding a job was a lot easier than I thought, stamping forms and queueing at government offices was not :rofl: (snip) |

Yeeesss. All too often it doesn't matter how positive you are, thyere's no way in. The negative comments on here are usually from people who have seen a lot of people's dreams go belly up.
It's probably another English Irregular Verb. I am reaslistic you are negative he is depressing. |

How do you find the cost of living, RagstoRiches? (apologies if you've already said this in one of your videos) I imagine you're on a low salary to start (a new English teacher with no experience).

Bil - All my friends who think that way, complain about it and say the world is just full of broken dreams. All my friends who think the other way, earn on average about three times them. Steve - With the cost of living, and my currently salary, I'm about as well off as I was in the U.K on a hefty I.T salary - and I haven't yet started taking private lessons (which I will in December). My apartment is cheaper, better. Booze is cheaper. Food is about the same, and the Car has so far been a major expense. I teach 25 hours of classes - the pay is actually quite good depending on if I have to drive there etc... I spend about 30 minutes prepping each lesson on top of that, and then I'm spending about 6 hours a week training myself to be a better teacher. You have to consider that I have 3 years experience coaching buisnesses in I.T and several years before that as a newspaper journalist. This sort of background means far more than the one month Celta course which many people come over with. |

If you've a contract then you should be ok, but private classes tend to disappear for 3 or 4 weeks... |

Good for you, you are, positive and will succeed and have training experience which is worth more than pieces of paper. Please don't get upset by anything that anyone says on this forum it's quite appalling at times but there are a lot of sad souls out there who have no one else to talk to. |
