Re: childcare in Spain...
Hi lukie1,
I think it all depends on the area where you plan to settle down, first and foremost you must register with the Town Hall to get your "padron", to get this you must have a copy of your Deeds of your house, your Passports, Photocopies of your passports, you will then get issued with your "padron". You then need to go to your local Health Centre and register with them, They will give you a health card (this is a tempory SIP card which lasts one year). about three weeks later you will recieve a plastic SIP card in the post. Once this paperwork is sorted you can ask for A Womens health care service which is provided by the health clinic Do not expect the same type of service as you would get back in the UK, This is Spain after all. if you daughter speaks Spanish she will be well looked after, most Spanish do not speak english unless of course you move near the coast. I do hope this helps |
Boarding kennels for dogs...
Hi... Can anyone advise me on the whereabouts of some excellent dog boarding kennels in the Caple area of Spain? Thanks in anticipation! ;)

I had my baby here nearly 2 years ago in the Costa Del Sol Hospital. I have no complaints. When my baby was born we had social security for her and private Insurance....This year we cancelled the Private Insurance as we found the NHS System very good. It does depend on where you live! I am in Marbella and am learning spanish and get by...just. My pediatrician does speak English, I am very lucky having him, although the one before didnt speak a word and if you dont speak any spanish it can be quite a daunting experience. The private health care here is very different to England...here you can just go straight to a doctors or pediatrician and use your private insurance card or pay cash. Hope this helps Joanne |
