Child Car Seat In Taxis
Now i know we all have to have a child car seat in our cars if we are carrying a child but what is the rule with taxis ?
I have friends coming with a 3 year old and will be getting a taxi from the airport.

A lot of people bring their child carseat with them on the plane, I would assume the cabbie would let them use it in his car.

Are they flying into Alicante Airport?' If they are then they can ask for a car seat from the taxi driver and he will drive around to a store area and they can pick the one they will be happy with. Although, the meter is running whilst they are doing this!!

Child seat rules for taxis are the same throughout the EU. They do not have to provide them. Can you imagine it? Carrying three types of seat covering the age groups, there would be no room left in the boot for your luggage.

In my experience both in UK and Spain there are never any child seats in taxis.

We have family coming over in October, my niece and her two children, one of whom will be six months and one of four years. Only the three of them are coming because she and OH don't drive and having to have two car seats in the car there is not room for him as well

Like I said, at Alicante they have them but don´t offer them, you have to ask and then they will provide. I wouldn´t want to take my kiddies in a taxi without a car seat, lets face it they drive like maniacs!

Can't help with that - but in our area very difficult to hire - have tried from the Company that I hired from when down south and they are prepared to meet clients at Alicante airport but will not come down this far. Contact me if you want their details.
