Where are you in Pago? Did they say you were in a yellow zone or not?

I have just heard that some people applied for electric meters two weeks ago and have got them!!!

We are in the north East corner of Pago, the Urbanisimo office told us that we are now in the White (Rustic) zone.

As we are illegal we will not get the certificate of first occupation and therefore the electric supply.

NicCol, you could ask your solicitor to get the information from the town hall but this wil defeat the reasoning behind getting it yourself in the first place.

I know of a couple who did just that and the answer from the solicitor was not the same they got direcly from the town hall. Do you get my drift.

I went to the Town hall on a Thursday morning with a translator, we got ticket number 11 at 9.35 am and saw the plans at 10.45 am having a coffee in between timeat the local cafe.

There is no doubt in my mind that if I were to buy again knowing what I know now I would do my own research independent of the solicitor, estate agent and developer. It could save you a lot of worry by making the trip to the Town Hall and Urbanisimo office opposite Chilcana town indoor market. The details from the Urb office are free.

Whilst talking of problems, have you tasted the water from your well. We did not as we were not going to drink it, but, the original well provided very salty water which would be useless to water any garden with and would probably damage the water heater, washing machine, dish washer etc. We had to have another one dug elsewhere on our plot at a cost of 2,500 euros.
Thanks for that tip, Flamingo, we are coming out in a couple of weeks so we will check the water.

Does anyone know if the town hall is open on Saturdays?

Pretty sure that the Town Hall is not open on a Saturday, but you should go to the Urbanisimo office opposite the indoor market, which is one street away from the Town hall, as they make no charge for the information altho you will have to take a numbered ticket and que. I do not think that this is open on a Saturday either, however, I am not 100% sure.

Do you know if there is any other way I can get hold of the information? There is no way I can get out on a weekday inbetween now and completion. All I know is that it is in yellow belt, but as others have pointed out that doesn't mean to say its legal!

The town hall have a web site, however, on this site I am in the yellow, albeit right on the very edge, the plans I was shown in the Urbanisimo office show me in the white and they insist that these are the ones going forward.

The Town Hall web site is www.chiclana.es
On the menu on the left hand side put your mouse over the heading : Gerencia Urbanismo then Documento de Aprobacian Provisional, then the next panel Anexos.

You will need to go through each Zona and then the Anexos 1-X to find out where you are.

I will say that these plans did not quite match what I was shown in the Urbanisimo but will give you an idea.

If you can get into the Urbanisimo with a translator you should.

Other than that speak to your solicitor.

Where is your house, is it a new build.

We are up the top of Camino del Pozo de la Boyal facing onto salt flats and Medina Sedonia in the distance. Pozo del Boyal is between the two ventas on the Pago road.

Hi everyone
Is there any news on this? My solicitor e-mailed over the weekend and said that things are starting to move and we can be optimistic, he did say that no meters have actually been fitted yet though. Does anyone know about that too?

I have heard from an abagado that there has been a meeting between the Town Hall and Endesa in the last two weeks and Endessa are going to press ahead with installing electricity boxes, urban area first and then to anyone who was in the original plan and now not.

Can anyone confirm or deny this.
