How long does a cheque on a Spanish bank take to clear here in Spain please?

In my experience around the same as the U.K ,also they dont have to be crossed here so you can cash them if you go to the issuing branch.

I cash mine every month at the local branch as rotor says, you may need ID if you're not as good looking as me though.

If you are unfortunate enough to have any Uk cheques to be cleared through the Spanish banking system though it takes an eternity. Ours cleared after 30 days!!!

UH !!! :confused:
Our local RuralCaja lets me write a cheque in Sterling - he charges about €6 for every £1000 does the paperwork, puts the copies in a BIG PILE of other paperwork and then says ... would I like to take any EUROS CASH NOW !!!!!!!

The cheque's not even in the system properly - (on his computer probably)... in reality I can draw on it straight away and sometimes do !!

... having banked there for 2.5 years he knows me !!
(and if I broke my pattern and say wrote a cheque for 20K - he'd probably be more cautious)

...I love my local branch in Hondon de Las Nieves... and when you ask him what the Exch Rate is ? He replies 'S**t' - very informal !!!
