Cheap way to send things to Spain

Hi all!

I'm new here. I'm spanish and have been living in London for a while, and now I'm coming back home :)

The thing is I have to send a couple of things I've bought here and can't take with me in the plane.

The parcel would be something in between 30-40 kg, and I would like to know a cheap way to send it. I'm wondering if there is any cheaper company than parcelforce, I've found parcelfusion, but I've been reading opinions about them and everybody says it's awful, so I think I won't take the risk...

I thought maybe someone would know a cheap and safe way to send the parcel, I don't wanna loose my things, but I'm not really rich at the moment, so any saving would be great!

Thanks so much.

Un saludo.

What sort of things are we talking about here?
Are they things that you could split into several 20kg packages? and send into the hold as extra luggage?

Obviously not, I was thinking about the rising tide of violence and unrest in the already politically charged occupied territory of Tibet.

Jajajajaja, thanks for the fast answer, they are just normal things I needed here, a printer, a lot of books as I was here studying, clothes... Nothing special, no porn, no drugs, nor my ex-boyfriend corpse...

They are just really heavy, and I need to send them. I can split them in several parcels, but I thought using a delivery company would be cheaper than paying extra luggage... I'm flying with Ryan Air, as I prefer flying to Valladolid, it's nearer where I'm from and it's easier...

I've checked this and sounds really good, I think you've sent me a pm, but I can't read it until I have three posts...

Ryan air should only charge the extra bagge price - I think thats around £15 per item of luggage upto 15kg - I'd guess this is your cheapest option??

You will find they charge total weight over your original 15kg as extra despite paying for another bag.

Yes, they charge 10 € per extra kg if your baggage is more than the 15 kg they allow you to carry... :(

Ive told you how to do this, so why you bothered about the other posts, email me or PM me, what printer you have, might be worth selling it or binning it anyway, if a inkjet it will leak everywhere anyway, they are the worse things to transport and cheap as chips to buy anywhere

Re: Cheap way to send things to Spain

How about trying a removal company that does part loads, but they will probably charge a minimum price of a square mtr.

Hi, I'm sorry, I sent you a pm when I read yours, I couldn't do it until I had the three posts, I think I'm going for that option... The printer is a laser one, it's completely new I haven't even had time to use it, so the toners are still packed...

"Checked Baggage Allowance

Each passenger is permitted to check in up to 3 bags with a maximum combined weight of 15kgs, subject to the payment of the applicable checked baggage fees. A discounted checked baggage fee is charged for each piece of checked baggage booked at the time of reservation on www.ryanair.com. If checked baggage fees are paid either at the airport or through a Ryanair call centre, the full rate will apply."

You're right :frown: Why does that not apply when I take our golf clubs then? We usually have a case each at 15kg + a couple of sets of clubs at around 10kg?? never paid an excess charge.

They have special fees for sports and infant equipment, and for musical instruments, maybe you paid for that and that's why you didn't have to pay for excess baggage?

I do pay for the golf clubs - thats why I thought if you paid extra for more bags at about £15 each way you'd get a further 15kg per bag luggage allowance?

Ryanair neber used to charge if you could charm the guy / girl on the checkin desk, but no more, Policy and I reckon bonuses now force ryanair staff to be ignorant and hard nosed about such things, I think the online check in has made it more awkward with not the check in people but the security at the airport which used to be well lax

2 Airports what used to be the most pleasing and easy going ive ever been in Jerez ans Sevilla are now just as hard faced as the staff at Stansted
