Cheap travel
Hi, I know that nowadays it's most usual for people from Britain to travel abroad by air and there are those cheap air fares from Ryanair and easyjet, but I've only ever travelled by car, coach, ferry or sometimes train and I have no idea how it all works. How cheap is cheap? because an English man told me that he had a ticket from Sevilla (?) to somewhere in the north of England or the Midlands and it had cost only 18 pounds! But I've read lots of complaints about paying extra for baggage and stuff and there'd be train fares to and from the airport, so I can't imagine it'd be very cheap.
My son lives in Brighton - how would he travel to Sevilla (for a week or so) and how much d'you think it'd cost, roughly? (I know it's impossible to give a close idea, but I have absolutely no clue.) |
Re: Cheap travel
Easyjet or Ryanair from Gatwick. The cost would depend on when he booked. I suggest you look at their websites.

Re: Cheap travel
As Jonnyone says you need to look at the airline web sites to get a decent idea of prices. Certainly with the budget airlines the cheapest price can be obtained the earlier you book as generally the more they get bookings for a flight the price goes up. Sometimes it works opposite for the charter flights like Thomas Cook as they make their money by inclusive holidays and if they have spare flight only seats they may sell them off cheap at the last minute. Every day has a different price sometimes it can be £25 to fly on a certain date and £100 for same flight on the following day. Avoid holiday times be flexible and you can bet great deals. Each website explains re the baggage allowance.

Re: Cheap travel
Good thing with skyscanner is it does a lot of the work for you by checking say flying out with one airline and back with another, it gives you all the price options.

Re: Cheap travel
Gatwick - Seville has plenty of low cost flights, many between 30 and 45 UKP outside of peak season. Yes, with these airlines you pay for checked baggage but you usually get a 10kg allowance for cabin baggage. Choose a lightweight backpack to make the most of this.
