Changing whacking big loads of £ into Euros
Hi
Well had confirmation that all surveys and legal stuff on my Villa is good to go ..
So now will need to shift whacking great wedge of my Money from the UK over to Spain (Mallorca) Bank in Euros ..
Obviously need to get the best Exchange rate,
Obviously want it safe as well.
So best way to do it to ensure the above ,, advice needed please..

Of course with our business a lot of large amounts of money gets converted into euros and I've never had to resort to a 'specialist' company as the bank needs the business just as much as anyone else so will (or should) give competitive rates.

I used Moneycorp to take advantage of the higher commercial exchange rate, got 1.5 euros to the pound. Just had to transfer money to their account in London, give them my halifax account No. in Spain and they did the rest, hassle free and all for a one off fee of 15 euros.

I split mine across hifx, and currencies direct. Also spread my risk by buying several forwards over a period of a few months
Regardless of rate, both these companies provided absolutely outstanding customer service, including handling the situation where my bank bounced the cheque i sent to them!
