changing tariff with endesa..is it worth it?
Has anyone changed from their standard tariff to ´One Luz´?
Have you noticed any difference in your bills? |
Re: changing tariff with endesa..is it worth it?
Hi DairyMaid,
Yes, I switched because it was suggested on the website that it could be beneficial. In reality it has made little or no difference. However, I must add that this is for a small apartment with occupancy for about 10 to 12 weeks of the year. The difference may be more noticeable for full time residents with larger properties. |

Unless you are a very heavy user and on a potencia of more than 10kw there is no advantage in changing to a new supplier. The reason is that all the lower tariffs are heavily subsidised by the government and the companies have no room to offer better deals.
You may get a temporary initial discount usually only based on the monthly charge but the unit rates are pretty much the same across all companies. I am a heavy user and I did change from Endesa to Iberdrola and got a much better deal, however that is in the “free†market but even then the tariffs are higher than the subsidised market. If you are a normal user the benefits of changing are transitory and not worth the effort. Far better to look at changing to the dual tariff where off peak charges are very low. All the companies offer this but they don’t tell you how high the benefits are. |

I´m changing to the ´one luz´tariff which is the the one which offers a lower
rate between 23.00h and 13.00h and a slightly higher rate the rest of the time. A friend (full-time resident with pool etc) reduced her bills by almost 50%...had to adapt her laundry times, pool pump times etc....but the results are impressive. |

We have had a dual tariff for years and it has saved a huge amount. By careful management of device usage, we achieve 72% of consumption at the cheap rate.
