Changing Sterling to Euros

We've got my nephew & girlfriend coming out tomorrow & they're asking if it's better to change their money here or there - any advice?

Too late now, I used to use Travelex when we were coming from the UK .... if you booked on line you could get a fairly good rate. You can buy at the airport from them but the rate isn't so good.

I agree, too late. The best rates are obtained by booking online in advance.

What UK debit or credit cards do they have? If they have the Post Office, Nationwide, Halifax clarity or Santander Zero credit cards, they can use them here with 0 exchange load. With the Nationwide debit or cash card they can also get free cash from ATMs until 1st November.

Most other debit or credit cards will charge a fee of 2.75% foreign currency conversion, yet they are often cheaper than exchanging money at the airport.

Thanks - I've advised them to just use their debit cards - seems simplest :)

Just watch out what debit cards they use. You can read a very good guide about travel money here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tra...p-travel-money

Take a look at "the cards from hell"
