Bad news for Spurs followers though. They now do not qualify for the Champs League through no fault of their own (normally 4th would have been enough); plus they may well lose players who will be enticed elsewhere (Bale, Modric).

That Europa league which they were in last season and will be next is a real killer, mainly due to all the extra games plus travelling that are involved.

Very few teams have strong enough and versatile enough squads to make a fist of both that, and the domestic competitions.

Arry tried to get through by switching his team around and resting players when he could, but even with a decent squad, the chopping and changing isn't really a good thing and by the second half of the season those with weaker squads especially are suffering burn-out and often losing ground in the Prem.

Good news for my team Malaga as they have qualified for the Champions league for the first time ever!! In 1994 they were playing in the third division on sand pitches! Usually to finish fourth from the bottom of La Liga was considered a successful season. So looking forward to next season very much.

Every picture tells a story.
This one tells quite a few.

It's a classic from the G8. which was interupted and filmed at the request of Mrs Merkel so she could be seen rejoicing the Bayern triumph by the people back home and the Rest of the World, ............ then along pops Didier.

Reminds me, didn't something like that happen at the German Olympics back in 1936 ?

Just as well David used both arms together or he could have been in deep sh!t.

Nice to see which side the Pres. was on.
