CD Player in Mercedes not working
Hi All
We have a mercedes car and the cd does not work properly. Usually we cannot play any cd's, so have to make do with the crackly radio. But every now and then, the cd decides that it will play after all. It is very annoying as you can imagine - a posh car and your cd player not working. :curse:
Does anybody know of a qualified person/garage in the La Marina area (South of Alicante) who could possibly help solve this problem.
Apparently we are told that all we need is for a set of keys to lift the cd player out of the case to check to see if the eye needs cleaning.
Please HELP !!!
Kindest Regards
Carol :curse:

Here is a link to the official Merc web site. click on the click on the RHS and it will open a small window where you can search for the nearest local dealer.

Re: CD Player in Mercedes not working
If the original head unit is a standard size then you will just need a new head unit and an adapter cable to convert the Mercedes wiring loom to a generic one (just push fit) - If however it's not the standard size you can buy a blanking plate to make it so.
The keys to 'unlock' the head unit can be a pain to find, but every single shop that specialises in new head units will be able to use their keys to unlock it.
You can also buy the keys (they're bits of metal and slot in and unhook)
It sounds a little daunting but the only real prob is getting the old unit out.
Couple of links for ya so you get the idea :
Wiring Loom Adapter something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-A-B-C...QQcmdZViewItem
Unlock keys something like this:

Obviously you would have to get the right ones for your model/years, but at least it gives you something visual to gauge if you want to attempt doing it yourself.
Hope this helps!
