Car transfer tax

Hi, we have a company provided car for the family stuff. So i was about to splash out 9-10k on a personal dadmobile for when the toddler is in kiddie day jail.

Just noticed this transfer tax. Is it still up in the air who pays as part of the negotiations? And is there a link to help me calculate what the cost is? I found a link on here to one from 2008 but the file has been removed. I just need to know how much I have to lower my buying budget by to take account of the tax (if Im paying)

Cheers all.

Do you know of a link to work out how much the tax would be?

Re: Car transfer tax

it's 4% of the current "official" value of the car - not what you paid for it.

The values of all cars are here

http://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2013/12/1...2013-13227.pdf

You discount the price by an age factor which is right at the end of the list.

There are also charges on top of that. I think it's about €40 if you do it through Trafico and more if you use a gestor.

Thanks for the link Fred. Can I confirm, that if the car is over 10 years old. Its a flat rate of 10% of the calculated value for the transfer tax?

Ive (attempted) to translate that equation, crikey. They don't make it easy do they. So to try and start, to calculate VM, I have to apply the % from Annex IV, but I cant even seem to find that!? Maybe its just not translating right, or Im just a numpty tonight!

The car cost 33600 16 years ago. Is there anyone who's done this before and feels charitable enough to save me a migraine (and point me in the right direction). :fingerscrossed:

I think you're correct. The pdf stops right after all the yachts and boats, there is no appendix with the % reduction for valuation.

Yes, you're right - it seems to have disappeared!

It's in previous versions.

Well Im glad it wasnt just me. :p

So. Now for the next bit. I have to divide 10% of 33600 by 1 + (tipoIVA + tipoiEDMT + tiposOTROS)

I dont suppose theres an easy way to find the tipo* figures?

tipoIVA: Tax rate, as an integer, the value added tax that
would have been payable at the time of first registration and the territory in
now it is to be registered in Spain that means of transport.
tipoiEDMT: Tax rate, while one, the Special Tax on Certain
Transportation that would have been payable at the time of first registration
and the geographical areas in which now go to enroll in Spain this means of
transport.
tiposOTROS: Result of adding the tax rates in per unit, of any
other indirect taxes have been levied

Cor blimey guv ! Beats me.
I've got an 18 year old Saab 9000 - allegedly valued at 17,000 euros. I wonder what the transfer tax would be on that.
Probably better to drive it to death and de-register it at Trafico.
Might be that I'd have to pay someone to "buy" it from me otherwise !
Yet another ludicrous situation brought about by this thieving government.

If you bothered to read my previous post you would see that the current value of your car is €1700 and the tax is 4% of that.

I will leave you to work it out for yourself. I assume you can manage that without further assistance.

I know my thread is an old one. But I thought I'd post a link I found to a website that calculates the transfer tax for you. Might be helpful to the next person pricing up when choosing a used car.

Cheers.
