Default Car rental in Malaga region that can be driven out of the country

Can anyone recommend a car hire company that will allow us to drive the car out of Spain ie. Gib/Morocco

We're roadtripping around Spain in a few weeks and may wish to go to Morocco for a few days too but most hire companies obviously don't allow the cars to leave Spain (not even Gibraltar is permitted)

Thanks

interesting question, some Spanish friends of ours were looking for a hire car (they don't own one, not needed in the big city), as they wanted to take a week off and intended going to Lisbon for a few days.

think they eventually found a company (I will ask) but perhaps it would be easier to fly and use local transport ?

One example

http://www.espacar.es/tourist-info.htm

Only 30 minutes from Estepona, you can visit the rich and luxurious destinations of Marbella and Puerto Banus. Further south of the coast, you can stop in the wonderful city of Cadiz, with a visit to the exclusive Sotogrande, before moving into Gibraltar for a taste of England on the Rock.

In fact if you hire a car in Gib it will have Spanish plates.

The problem I have is we need to collect it somewhere local to Malaga and the companies i've looked at wouldn't allow it:
"Please note that as the insurance only covers Spain, you are not allowed to take the vehicle abroad. We inform you that destinations like Gibraltar and Andorra are not belonging to Spain and therefore are seen as countries."

As we're planning on driving around and visiting lots of towns away from the usual tourist areas we can't rely solely on public transport

From Auriga Crown

http://en.aurigacrown.com/conditions.html

NOTE: The following terms and conditions just apply for bookings with pick-up and drop off at Malaga airport and Malaga Renfe (Maria Zambrano Train Station). For other destinations, you must read the particular conditions of the chosen car (clicking on the "Rate Details" link).

Our vehicles may not leave the peninsula.

The Peninsula includes Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar. Not sure about Andorra

I agree, I wouldn't want to hire a car to someone going to Morocco.

Why not take a ferry and then hire another car there or use public transport?

We've just been talking about leaving the car in Spain near the port and going to Morroco as foot passengers so will probably do this

They are still operating, but only as a booking agency for other companies.
They can book cars for travel into Gibraltar.

The point being made is that it is possible to take Spanish rental cars into Gib.
However Morocco would be difficult

Fred, if all those Spanish cars came into Gib where would you put them all. You don't have the roads and would have to use the runway as a car park.

No we queue them up on the Spanish side, that's why it takes so long to get in.

You are right as usual Domino.

At one point they estimated up to 400 vehicles were on the airfield.
