Can anyone help / guide us on car insurance for our car in the UK over the summer months of May to September. The car has been SORNed since before the pandemic so we are not sure how to move forward. Does anyone know / suggest a good insurance broker / Company that could help us?

Is it a UK registered car that has been kept in the UK and you have a UK address or is it a UK registered car that you have kept in Spain and are you a full time UK resident or a full time Spanish resident? as the answers will determine your best course of action.

Try Stuart Collins in Swansea, they seem to have solutions to unusual situations................ well they certainly did for us anyway and ours was very unusual !!!

We are Spanish Residents who go to our Scottish address in the summer (except during pandemic). UK registered car kept in UK - normally SORN car annually when we return to Spain in September.

Thanks Andywally! Reading their website, this company seems to cover cars UK registered cars that are kept in Europe for UK residents who leave them abroad while they return to the UK. We are the other way round but I'll give them a call on Monday. Thanks again.

I have found a broker who has been able to arrange insurance for 3 months.

Nice one Elizabeth............. even if you didnt need them (stuart collins) ............ its always nice to help, and thankyou for the thankyou, I have had nothing but excellent service from them over the last 18 months, and would thoroughly recommend them to anybody, yes they tend to use the 'larger' more well known insurance companies, and ergo slightly dearer in price......... but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for (to a degree that is)........... always happy to help (or try to help).
