Hi all

I am coming over to the Costa de la luz for a year or two (or more maybe). Can anyone recommend somewhere for car insurance, bearing in mind thayt my Spanish is not that hot at the moment.

Mapfre have English speakers in a lot of their offices
Linea Direct, you can do on line but I seem to remember its in Spanish

Fully comp insurance over here comes with European breakdown cover included

BTW, if you are keeping it on UK plates it opens all kinds of issues about legality. You will need to matriculate within 60 days of residencia

And your trailer will have to have its own ITV (mot)

We use Linea Direct on-line, must be English as OH did it on his own and there is no way he could have managed:confused: it if it was in any other language:blink: than English. Saved us a whopping 200euros on our previous car insurance:thumbsup:, well worth a look.

No, if you are resident in Spain for more than 3 months you have to change to Spanish plates on the car and the trailer has to have it`s own reg and ITV too.
