car hire insurance
Apologies if this has been raised before. I did a search and could not find any relevant information.
Car hire is getting more expensive and becomes exorbitant if you take out the excess to cover you fully comprehensive.
There are a number of UK insurance specialists that offer, what appears to be, the same cover for a minimal one of payment per year.
Has anybody had to claim off any of these insurers and if so, what was your experience? Do they work?
Any recommendations based on personal experience of having to make a claim would be very useful.
Thanks
Steve

The only thing they do not cover is under car and glass, this costs about 1 euro per day if booked on the net when you book the car.
Economy are a UK compan who use local companies to spply the cars. I have used them many times and the car suppliers have always been fine, although I have never had any problems requiring an insurance claim.
I use them from Faro

The word is that hire cars are in short supply at the moment due to hire companies under estimating this seasons demand given the crisis and not re-newing their fleets with enough cars.

Re: car hire insurance
I've had no problem hiring a car in September but just wanted any information on others experience with UK insurers rather than paying the daily rate for SCDW.
