Default Car accessory shops

Is there a national chain of car accessory shops like Halfords in the UK?

This last week I have visited, Jumilla, Yecla, Pinoso and also been down to Leroy Merlin and BricoDepot at Elche, all with no luck.

All I want is a can of red oxide primer undercoat paint to use on my model boats, but none of the small outlets around here seem to sell car paint, just tools and parts.

I don't think there are national chains like Halfords but then for what you want, any bricolage will do.

One thing I've really missed is the availability of large car accessory shops. Perhaps it is because I don't live in a large town or city, so I'm stuck with a petrol station or ferreteria where the choice is limited and prices high. There are of course the Chinese outlets for some things, but some of it (most?) is of fairly poor quality.
I live in Moraira and I know of one in Bennisa but it's stock is small and a fairly large one in Carrefour Benidorm, but as it's quite a while since I've been there I'm not sure it's still there.
Being a sad person I enjoy cleaning and polishing my car, but finding a good range of polishes is difficult if not impossible locally.

The two chains I know of are Feu Vert - which are sometimes attached to Carrefour stores - and Norauto.

But maybe a good specialist paint shop should have what you need or get it in for you.

That's it, Feu Ver. Anyone know if it's still there?

There's certainly one of those at Cocentaina (Alcoy) - wasn't very impressed last time I went to get a wiper blade.

There is a car accessory chain store next to Carrefor near Torrevieja. There is a car accessory store in most large Cortes Ingles stores, e.g. Elche.

I would suggest any of the DIY chain stores would stock a can of (spray) red oxide primer.

Exactly my thoughts (see post #2)

@Bifta - very expensive and didn't have ANY rear wiper blades. In that particular outlet, no one was would assist (even though we speak Spanish and Valencian well).

Tip you may well be able to use (I do) your old front blades cut down to fit the rear.

Surprised you didn't find it at Leroy Merlin as I bought some from them just recently - maybe they were temporarily out of stock.

Well I'm making the trip to Thader and Nuevo Condomina shopping centres on thursday. If I can't turn up a can either in Al Campo or Leroy merlin there, I'll give up.

Maybe the Spanish don't touch up the dents on their cars- take that back, looking at some of them around here I know they don't!

Norauto is a poor best of the rest but it has a fantastic stock of shock absorbers and suspension accessories but bugger all in the way of tools and paint. Maybe they are being reaslistic about the state of the roads?

Feu Vert is laughably expensive, a battery in the adjacent Carrefour is always much cheaper.

My last job before leaving the UK was working for Unipart and I saw the huge gap in the market here. Now, all I need is €200k I have the business plan and the small matter of no assets. Ahem...
