Re: can't find word!
it was in Oliva, so it wouldn't be a Catolan word I don't think? I think thats how it was spelt., are there any similar words that could be tied in with a pic of a monument?
Thanks for the welcome! its a fab forum! loads of info i refer to it a lot, its lovely to get first hand info on what i'm likely to come across in our journey to our new life!

Jut Jats in Spanish is Juz Gado which in English is Court. So it is part of the legal system.

Diccionari/Tavarca by Vicent Pascual
Valencia - Castella there are accents on the final a's but not sure how I can do that on my Spanish keyboard.
This translates Valencia into Spanish and vis versa so you then need your Spanish/English dictionary to finish off your translation. Hard work but worth it in the end.

Re: can't find word!
We bought a dictionary from Carrefour to help with things being in Valenciano.

I did think of that, but its all my little mind can do Rosemary to cope with one new language, let alone 2. Luckily, most people understand Spanish here its just signs that seem to be dual or Valenciano alone

Wish we had translated the Fallas signs because they are noted for their humour and that they tend to be contentious.
As for our mastery of the Spanish there is me speaking it with a Devon accent and OH speaking it with a Yorkshire accent so between us we are murdering a beautiful language. But we are trying - yes I know very trying.

Re: can't find word!
See at the right of your keyboard, beside the p and ñ respectively - those little things are your accents. Hit that key BEFORE you hit your a (or whatever) and the corresponding accent will appear when you press a.
(You won't see anything when you press the first key - the mark doesn't appear until you hit the letter you want to accent to go with)
I only use castellano and it's only during this discussion I've realised why my keyboard comes with thàt one aswell as thís one.
