Sounds like a sensible idea to me

I think there is already too much competition around where I live for this idea to be successful here!

Oh, think of the tax revenue! The jobs!

better yet, if this were adopted widely across the world, think of how it would put a huge dent in the drug cartels and their policy of killing anyone who gets in the way. You could kiss that goodbye, and see some marginal improvement in the economy as well.

Same in my area - the locals just grow a few plants on their roof. Of course they are visited occasionally by the local plod (to pick up their share.......)

It's a great idea.Hemp oil has been looked at as an alternative cancer cure (no clinical trials as no money there for the big boys).Getting hold of it legally at a fair price can only be a good thing. http://www.thenhf.com/article.php?id=497

I'm getting worried about all this lawlessness. When I walk my dog in the morning we both sniff the air and come back happy.

But it's not lawless is it? I think you're allowed up to five plants, but the guy round the corner hasn't been told. His garden lights up the sky and he's the happiest man around. And the richest.

Well, we can't have anyone making any money, can we? That would be unfair to all those who don't.

Has anyone thought that there may be other benefits than economic ones? I'm not entirely in jest when I say that if cannabis use weren't so widespread and small scale production tolerated by the police, there might be much more social unrest in Spain that there is, with unemployment through the roof. Stoned people aren't aggressive and violent, as a rule.

Where I visit in the mountains it seems they all a few plants 'hidden' in the hills. You certainly see cultivated areas in weird places :) and I never see nor hear of anyone causing trouble or even looking like they would. Think they are all chilled out lol and they do live in paradise, it says so at the end of the road

It seems Mexico could use a bit of that.

Bring it on I say, all over the Country.
As in, isn't Amsterdam one of the lowest crime rates in the EU? Considering that, ahem....... Make Spain the next in line.

Personally I can say I don't use the stuff, however - I've never witnessed "people" fighting whilst under the influence :)
