Canada to Valenica Tax Help
 

I have just moved from Canada to Valencia and am still working as a freelance contractor for a company in Canada. I am looking for a recommendation for tax advice as I need help understanding my obligations with regard to tax, contributions etc. in both Spain and Canada. I have an Irish passport so I am not looking for help with a work visa or immigration. Recommendations gratefully received. Thanks!

if you have a full Irish passport you have no problems. You either wait 90 days and apply or do it now and apply for your TIE. When my wife (Irish passport) attended with me to obtain our TIE’s I got mine and they told her it was not appropriate or necessary she was a European Citizen and only needed her Padron which she already had! We both have full Spanish health cover from Salud Andalucia as retired residents covered by UK. You will need Private Insurance health cover until retirement age then you can register on the Spanish system.

Surely she needs more than just a Padrón. Before Brexit all eu citizens had to apply for the green residency forms/cards.

Has that changed or is it because she is a family member of a non eu resident?
