Re: Can I vote?
In a word - no.
Only Spanish nationals can vote in general and regional elections. |

Re: Can I vote?
Probably but it won't get anywhere.
You have the right to vote in UK elections for up to 15 years after you left. This limitation has been challenged but to no effect. |
Re: Can I vote?
for some time there has been a thread running, generally discussing the 15years limit for UK nationals living outside the country
however, I have referred to the inequities of the voting laws even within the EU and IIRC France has recently made voting open ended for all their nationals irrespective of location and time outside the country. I have advocated the voting rights of an individual should move around with the individual, where on production of passport and registration with relevent authorities anyone living in a country should be fully entitled to vote in their country of residence at all levels. This would give an incentive to take part in local politics and community affairs. If you fancy a bit of reading then visit http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=722281 and consider how many of your allocated 15 years you have left before a civil servant in the uk pulls the plug on it. |

Why would I want the right to vote in a country I'm not living in, and no right to vote where I live and pay my taxes? It makes no sense to me. |
