People who are rude to waiters etc strike me as foolish. These people handle your food, and you can't see what they are doing.
It's like being rude to a copper who pulls you over for a minor traffic offense.
Stupid beyond belief.

Once heard an argument in an Italian restaurant. People at the next table had ordered a pasta for their 2 children. On the English menu it said simply pasta in a ricotta cheese sauce with cream. The Spanish menu said the same but with walnuts, the kids didn't like it and as they pointed out they wouldn't have ordered it if they had understood the spanish one. In a tourist area it is essential to have all European languages.

Well said Bil, some people just do not think. I had to warn my friend about this when he complained about cold food and then the coffee in Slovakia last week.

I just go out the back and kick the bin, so if you see a resturant with a VERY dented bin then you'll know where i work

I had a friend who worked in the food industry, and the tales he told me made me realise the power waiters have over you.
My favourite of his stories was when a very arrogant and rude customer ordered a prawn mayo sandwich, and one of the male staff took it out back to add his own special 'seafood sauce'.
It was then presented to the customer, and the staff all watched him eat it.
Who in their right mind would be rude to food preparation people?

I worked with a chef in th U.K. who was a bit fiery, one day we had a steak sent back 3 times (ordered med rare) really wanted it cremated, chef threw it on the floor, stamped on it and chucked it in the deep fryer, when put back on the plate the imprint from the bottom of his trainers was visible, so after that well done steak was always known as a Reebok !!!!
