We´ve had a good experience. Two infact. We bought one house off-plan which we are living in at the moment and an apartment off-plan which was for an investment. The house we have sold and are just about to move to another property. We sold it for 80,000 euros more than we bought it for a couple of years ago.

The apartment we plan to hang onto for some considerable years. It´s in a developing area and we would like to see the area established before we think about selling it. Maybe in 10 years time or something. I´m confident the return will be good.

Hi,

I love to hear people’s success stories. Well done on your investments!

What tips can you give about choosing the right type of property, which will return a profit?

Any other subscribers who have any little secrets? Come on!

Well I found the formula for renting. At least 2 bedrooms, nice view, pool, and no further than 6 kms from the coast with lots of outside space. Worked a treat for rentals ..... not that we're thinking of selling but I hope it works for the sale also eventually.

I'd say avoid properties on urbs which are packaged closely together

As for returning a profit, depends on your time frame. If you are hoping for a quick turn around like the offplan market in the UK, I wouldn't be banking on it ;)

Like Mitzy says, make sure the property ticks all the main boxes - pool, near coast, near golf, bars, restaurants etc. And mainly that you realise what property investment is.....a good medium to long term investment, but crap as a get rich quick scheme.
