Default Buying a used car in Spain or further afield

I have read that 2nd cars in Spain are pretty expensive as they hold their value. Is this true?

Also has anyone ever bought a used car from France, Belgium, Holland and then registered it in Spain and paid the import tax? Ta!

Zel is our resident European car expert but he will be crying his eyes out at the Monaco GP at the moment

But in short until he arrives ......
Yes, they are more expensive for sure for the reasons you state, apparantly
Zel is an expert on buying in other countries and importing here. If you aint owned it for 6 months then you have to pay the import registration fee.

We bought a French registered car, re-registered it in UK and then re-registered again when we came to Spain. Did not have to pay the tax on it as we had owned it more than 6 months and it was our only vehicle.
