Default Buying a TV in Alicante

Hi, We are moving into our villa on Cumbre del Sol in a couple of months and want to get a plasma tv, We have been told there is a big store in Alicanti but we don't know the name of it. Does anyone know the name and do they have a web site? Or have any suggestions on other shops for a good quality plasma TV and good after sales service. Thanks Paul

There's a Mediamarkt in Alicante. But I'm sure there are other large stores too.

Hi,

There's a Masters Cadena in Alicante, Benidorm, Calpe and other areas. They usually do some great offers on TVs and other electrical goods. We use them for most of our needs.

And there is also Corte Ingles (which is a massive store), but we have found them to be a bit more expensive, unless there is a sale on. Then they have some great ofertas.

Mediamarkt, is adjacent to Leroy Merlin, on the Vista Hermosa shopping centre. however, in my experience I have found that after sales is poor, mainly due to the staff being generally young and disinterested in problems, you also will if you live a distance away have to take the unit back if you have any problems, (Not easy with a 42" plasma.
I have found it to be better to use local shops such as Master, Tien21 or Cadena , which is generally a local trader under a banner franchise, they tend to offer 2yrs guarantee, will deliver and install for you, and all aftersales will be done in your home or they will collect. Pricing is not much different from Mediamarkt!!
And at the same time you are supporting your local community!!!

Good luck with the move Paul

Im sure there will be a master cadena or similar in Benitachell

The Carrefour here in Gandia has a selection of plasma screens ( they had one in there last week which was an LG 42 inch but wasnt hd ready - thought it was a bargain at 999€) and there is a master cadena in La Vital shopping centre and a Milar opposite carrefour if you get stuck

Also have a look at Redcoon http://www.redcoon.es/

They only trade on the internet and have very good prices.

We've bought a couple of large ticket items from them. Very good service.
