Buying a property - current ITP tax rate
Does anyone know what the current tax rate is for buying a property in Barcelona? (not a new property) I've been told it had been increased recently.

I think it's 8%. Before last year's IVA increase it was 7%. It went down to 4% for new properties last year but this was only for a fixed period.

Thanks, the 8% was what I'd thought it was. Someone had mentioned 10%. Yikes.

It's 10% on new builds as that is IVA. The old 8% IVA rate no longer exists as it was increased to 10%
Resale properties have ITP at 8% |

That confirms what I said - property tax on resales is 8%.
On new houses you pay ITV and that is now 10%. I think thats what confuses people. I have edited my post to make that clearer. |
