Default Buying new motorbike

If I were to buy a brand new motorbike from an Internet company based in the UK and had them deliver it to my address in Spain, could I simply register it in Spain in the same way as if I had bought a new bike from a shop in Spain?
It wouldn't actually be registered in UK because it would be brand new, therefore I wouldn't have thought I would have the hassle of import/export.

Any one have any experience of this?

It would still be an import, albeit one from an EU member state. The stumbling block would come when you went to register it, without an import certificate and some sort of a certificate of compliance to traffic regulations. Thus you would have to go through the normal procedure in any case, would be my guess. However, that's certainly do-able, so I wouldn't let that put you off the bike of yourt dreams

Our Technico told us about a chap in Almeria that imported a tank and had to go through the process, unexpat is quite right re you will not get around the import duty that way but why not buy in Spain? I have seen just as many bikes here, especially after last weekend even in my neck of the woods, miles from Jerez.
