Buying medical insurance for someone else in Spain
Hi guys
I was wondering if it is possible to buy medical insurance for my mother in Spain.
What are my options which companies do you recommend.
Does she have to have a medical to start with.
Also I live in the UK but do have Spanish papers as used to live in Spain but would that matter.
Thanks for your help as I really don't have a clue

I have to say I have no idea, but I doubt there would be a problem, best just contact the various companies & ask
does your mum get a UK pension? if she does, she has full access to the free state healthcare here in Spain

As Concierges for the Spanish section of BE we would like to say hello and welcome.
BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Please let us know if you need any further help.

I was going to recommend Prevision Medica but they only have facilities in Mlaga province. We live in Granada province and as we are only 20 minutes from one of their participating clinics in Nerja we use them.
They are very cheap and the premium doesn't go up when you get to 65 and the full cover also continues. With many policies that is not the case.
