Buying a house in Martos, Spain
Hello,
I am thinking of buying a house in Martos, Spain. Does anyone know if there is a British community there? I visited once and fell in love with the Architecture and people and would like to retire there in 10 years time. I want to buy a house that I can enjoy as a holiday home until retirement. |

There is a long thread about Martos here. It's from some years ago but It may give you some answers.

If you intend to spend more than 90 days in your holiday home per 180 days, unless you are an EU citizen, you'll need a visa
We are currently in the dark ages back in the UK (due to the brexit scam pulled on us by Boris Johnson and his thieving cronies) so moving to Spain "just because we'd like to" isn't an automatic or easy option any more. You can still holiday here though for limited amounts of time (just like people can visit the UK), but in terms of residence you're now in the same basket as people from Morocco for instance, with exactly the same rights as they have. Any Irish ancestry, perhaps? An EU passport is worth its weight in gold these days... |
