Buying a car
Im also going to need to get a car when I'm out there, I'm looking at either a Ford Focus, or a Citreon Picasso, can anyone advise me whether I should buy new or used, and what sort of figures we are talking about. I appreciate prices vary greatly but some average costs would be great. Also what about insurance, where do I get it from, how much is it likely to be?

Re: Buying a car
HP is great...if you can get it!! Most expats can't prove an income so can't get hp.
You do need to be careful buying second hand, best buying from a dealer than a private sale.
For a Ford Focus, 3 years old with average milage you are looking around the 8000 Euros bracket.
Insurance wise, there are good fully comp policies with Direct Line (Called Linea Directa in Spain). For a Focus type car, fully comp, any driver age 25+ you are looking around 500 Euros per year (the last time I checked!!!).
Hope this helps.
