Buyers rights in Spain?

Hello Everyone.
My partner and I would like some advice please. We got duped by the sales pitch from the sales person in Alicante and bought two pillows and a duvet. The pillows are fine but the duvet is extremely heavy and cardboard like and is no way as comfortable as was originally sold to us. We have made a complaint but have been told they will not refund and recommend that we preserve with the duvet. We cannot do this as it is making sleep impossible and so we firmly believe that the item sold to us is not fit for purpose. My question is what possible legal action can I threaten them with which will make them sit up, listen and react to?
If there is little or nothing that can be done I'd still appreciate an answer so as not to waste any time and effort
Thank you in advance

Is this from a retailer / shop or a business(?) you can denounce the seller.
If you bought from lookie lookie / door to door type - you have little chance.

Hi Missile.
No this is from the blanket factory in Alicante. Denouncing the company will only deter a few others from making the same mistake. What I need to know is what legal pressure we can apply but we have no idea how consumer rights work in Spain, particularly when the goods are now in the UK. This item is not fit for the purpose it was sold on so we're convinced something illegal has occurred. We are not the only ones either as there are plenty of reviews with similar stories. We need a legal perspective from someone who knows the system

They should have a complaints form that you can ask them for

Put it down to experience . . . and move on . . . . it's only a duvet . . . the person selling probably needed the money more than you. Sorry!

I am surprised at how many are suckered into going on these "free" trips.

Not wishing to cause offence, but is it really worth the aggro?
Especially if you are going to pay a solicitor for advice over the sale of a duvet that cannot have cost more than EU30.
lots of places ( Carrefour, Ikea ) have duvets on display and you can feel the quality before buying.

30€ hahahah no - these people charge a fortune. A friend of mine bought some very highly-priced pillows because they were 'hypoallergenic' - they went on some 'free' coach tour which of course calls into these sorts of rip off places.

The 'free' coach tour we went on did all the selling on the coach, they had one person doing the speil, and then there were about 4 others who went round asking 'what do you want to order', it's very difficult NOT to order, and most people do so.

It is a bit like time share - high pressure selling. Nice to look at lovely to hold, put your hand up and we say sold :-)
