Most of the local fares are only around a € anyway. ;-))
They can get the train to Malaga for a couple of €`s too

I can only speak for my area, but yes we have such a thing. It is called a "bono" and you either buy a block of 10 or 20 journeys to be used at anytime for about 40% off the normal fare price.

Pensioners also get reduccions, but that might only refer to Spanish pensioners....not sure.

Not sure, maybe ask one of the drivers or call in the bus station and enquire, I live in an area where a car is needed and hardly ever use a bus, there used to be one that ran from here to the Port about 10K away that cost 90 cents and was handy for our visitors, but it was discontinued while they put a new rail bridge in and has never returned. ;-((

Probably. Here the bus service have a dedicated "information" and "sales" office in the town centre which is separate from any of the bus stations. That is where we have to go to buy the bonos.

They do have one on the coast as someone I know uses one to get from Mijas Costa to Marbella. Don't know how it works though, only been on a bus once when my car broke down.
