Hi Lionda,

I know this isn't the normal sort of posting but where does your user name Lionda come from? The reason I ask is that my family name is Lionda - granddad being a Greek Trader who came to UK around 1906. I am researching the name as he disappeared in the 1920s!

If I remember rightly, she's into genealogy (and there are a couple of other people on this forum who are as well)

Got to go and get our rental accommodation sorted. Been out for lunch to a lovely beach side restaurant and now need a wheelbarrow for my stomach :lol:

Someone is going to have to explain to me how you can move to Spain and still get on the internet! Are you using your own computer and same internet provider? Or are you using a cyber cafe, or, WHAT? It is one of those questions I was going to ask at a later date, but now seems a good time to bring it up.

My user name is simple - my surname is Webber and I have a whopping great walnut tree in my garden hence webberwalnut!!!! Glad it's not conkers!

My paternal grandfather was a naughty Greek merchant (Lionda) who came to London in the early 1900s and impregnated two separate ladies! Neither knew of the other's existence and each of them had a child. One was my father. His mother was a French lady on the run, in Ww1, from the Germans for working with the Resistance. She got pregnant and told my Dad (her son) that his father was a Frenchman who died in the War. He thought that her maiden name was his father's name and grew up in total ignorance. I am now trying to set the record straight, as is the "other" woman's grandaughter, and we are trying to track down the "dirty rotten .......".
