I moved from Netherlands to Spain and consider the weather a big improvement obviously. It's not only the temperatures that count, cold doesn't bother me!!! What I mean is, sunshine is a big component of the equation for me. And it's a simple hard fact that Spain gets far more sun than either UK or Netherlands.

I disagree with those who say weather has little to do with happiness. I would say 'ignorance is bliss' would be a better way to describe those who are content to live in Siberian weather with a highly monotonous life.

Once you have experienced the deeper richness of life in conducive weather it's hard to go back. It's like the difference between low-resolution and high-resolution video for me! Of course, if you've never seen higher-res video you won't miss it!
