Well, we had Mr Spin aka the Bliar, and everyone said how disgusted they were by that, only to whine that the next one in was charmless and unspun.

(Have to admit that his smile was terrible. It looked like he had learned how to do it on a correspondence course).

Now we are in for more spin, I suspect. Mind you they did look sweet together in the garden at No 10, and he did make a good fist of his speech. We must wait and see if it is for real or not.

Actually Bill, while I loathe Blair for what he did over Iraq, I actually admire the guy for many of his other achievements. We have to remember that Labour, sorry, New Labour, quite often crossed the line from left, to middle left and even middle right at times. It is that ability to look at a situation, or problem, and adapt whatever stance is needed to deal with it that was his best attribute. unfortunately he adapted that to the Iraq situation but there you go.... and its that self same situation that I personally think having the Libs in bed with the Tories will happen.... both parties may just moderate each other..... and how can that be such a bad thing?

I give Blair this much credit that he was able to talk to the IRA. Without that I suspect that that particular can of worms would still be a major thorn in our sides.

Someone else had a major hand in that whole affair mate and I sincerely hope her name goes down in history for her tenacity and courage during the whole sorry episode.

Hell yes, but Blair let it go forward, or at least failed to stop it. I curse him for Iraq, so I'll give him some credit for Ireland, it seems only fair.

Without Mo, I doubt it would have succeeded. I'd have liked to see her get a Nobel peace prize for that.

How did you change your name? Do you just ask the moderator to do it? I often think some posters on here sound familiar
