Looks like the Libs could come back to earth with a bump.
Tories have put there final cards on the table and appear to have conducted the negotiations with decency and respect.
Labour have as expected resorted to desperation tactics in the hope of hanging on.
It simply won't work by horse trading for Welsh and Scottish votes etc. and will just cause upset and turmoil amongst the English electorate.
Both Lib and Lab could pay the price in another election.

In addition some leading Labour politicians are very wisely dead against it, and would seem to prefer sitting back for a spell in opposition whilst watching the Tories having to take unpopular measures trying to clean up the mess.

Some of the comments on the Election Live page are worth a read for sure.

I still receive my CTC and CB here in Spain, I have no husband working in UK. The only reason I was allowed to export my CTC and CB is because I exported my Long-Term Incapacity Benefit. LTIB is one of a few benefits you need to be in receipt of to keep your CTC and CB. LTIB pay my N.I contributions in UK

So you drive, can use a computer and are obviously compos mentis enough to know all the ins & outs of the UK benefit system.

But are so incapacitated you are still incapable of any work??

Thats a strange question, yes I can drive, I have to have someone with me not that it is n one of your business. You do not know anything about my illness, if you did you would not be questioning me, which by the way, again, has absolutely nothing to do with you. You are assuming that because I am on IB that I should be wholed up somewhere and not be allowed out.

If you have a problem then I suggest you ring the DWP Benefit Cheat hotline, I would give you their contact number but you probably already have it to hand. I have been in receipt of IB since 1996, so of course I know some things about the benefit I am in receipt of. I can also give you the numerous telephone numbers of my doctors, psychatrists and cognative therapist if you want. But they will say it´s non of your business either.

I have PM´d JLFS and have told him of my condition, if you are so interested ask him. Ask him about the tranquilisers, anti-depressents and Bipolar medication I have to take everyday, so that I can lead a relatively normal life.

You say I can type, I can also talk, eat and breath. I´m not dead. I can also read, and the message I have just read from you is very ignorant.

SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAY I EVEN BOTHERED TO JPOIN THIS FORUM. I TRY TO ASK FOR ADVICE FROM PEOPLE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION TO MYSELF. AND TO HAVE RELATIVELY NORMAL CONVERSATIONS.

SOME ADVICE HAS BEEN GOOD AND MADE ME FEEL BETTER. BUT OTHERS, LIKE YOURS, HAVE MADE ME FEEL WORSE. WELL DONE AND I HOPE YOU ARE PROUD OF YOURSELF

I WANTED TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PEOPLE AND SHARE MINE AND THEIR PROBLEMS, TO HELP EACHOTHER. MY CARER AND MEDICAL TEAM ADVISED ME AGAINST JOINING AN OPEN FORUM, I WAS WARNED ABOUT PEOPLE REPLYING TO A POST I HAVE WRITTEN THAT COULD POSSIBLY UPSET ME. JUST GOES TO PROOVE HOW RIGHT THEY WERE.

This is a very opinionated forum. Sadly if you ask questions on any open forum, you're going to get answers you perhaps dont want to hear. There as many people in Spain struggling to make ends meet and on their knees not knowing which way to turn. They get no financial help at all from either the British or the Spanish government, even though they too have paid into the British system for many years. So some see it as an injustice that others do

I understand what you are saying. It´s just a shame that just because I post you a message saying that Alhaurin de la Torre is a pretty place, and I drive through there from time to time, I receive an answer like that.

I did not ask to become ill and I am sure I would not have been awarded LTIB if the DWP thought I should not. And the only reason that I was able to export my and CTC to Spain was because I am in receipt of IB, which is one of the conditions to be able to export CB and CTC to begin with, as well as other benefits like DLA etc.

At first, people who were in receipt of DLA before they moved to Spain were not allowed to export it to Spain. But the Government had a change of heart when they were bombarded with complaints. But I would never question someone in receipt of this benefit, as it is not illegal and is obviously their right to do so.

It´s the people that have homes in the UK and still claim council tax credits, housing benefits and Income Support, then rent out their property and do not tell the DWP that they have moved to Spain who are the Benefit cheats.

I do feel sorry for the parents whose CB and CTC was stopped when they moved to Spain, but like I said, mine also would have been stopped if I was not in receipt of IB.

Thank you for your comments.

Good post Jo and sadly very true, lots of people struggling with no help at all.
