Hello,

I am a Spaniard who lived in England for six years. I have recently moved back to Spain and I am so used to the British ways that I need help from you guys!

So I have several years of no claim bonus from my british car insurance. Is there any company that would consider this or will I have to start from scratch with a Spanish insurer? If they don't accept it, how much would it be to insure a Passat type of car? I am a 32 YO with 12 years of experience.

I recently insured my car with Liberty Seguros. They gave me the maximum no claims in Spain so long as I had proof of UK no claims. I got an email from UK insurers which satisfied them.

Hello again,

I have called the three companies that you guys recommended -Liberty seguros, Linea directa and Ibex-.

Liberty seguros said they would take my 2 years NCB from Admiral, but they need to confirm my letter first so it will take a while until I get a quotation.
Linea directa did not accept my English NCB, and they quoted me 882 Euros, lol. Still, cheaper than my British insurance, but I know I can get it a lot cheaper in Spain.
Finally, people from IBEX were a bit confused because I am Spanish and they told me it was a service for expats only, but then I insisted and I said I had a British licence and they ended up accepting my NCB. They offered me fire and theft for 559 Euros, which is still a bit expensive, but hey, at least I got an offer so now I feel like a true British expat xD.

Does anyone else know which companies would accept my British NCB or this is it?

Liberty seguros ended up offering me fire and theft for 388,45, which is fair enough considering everything, so I will take it. Thank you!

Obviously, price depends on your location, vehicle, claims and driving history.

Yeah, third party fire and theft for 388. Considering I only have 2 years NCB and I am "only" 32 years old -I mean I am not 50, which would be even cheaper-, I think it's a fair price. Oh, and Qualitas -which is how Admiral is called in Spain- also takes British NCB, but it is more expensive in my case.
