Default British Airways to Alicante

How long have BA been flying Gatwick to Alicante? I don't know how I missed that. Just booked a flight for next September and it works out cheaper than EasyJet.

Yes it was announced some months ago - probably part of the BA/Iberia deal. Doubtless will upset Ryanair - maybe Alicante does not need them?

Always worth looking out for special promotions that appear from BA. Often you fly as cheaply as the low cost operators, and a far better experience.

What I really wish for is London City to Valencia.
London City airport is almost a pleasure apart from the Guinness at £5.50 a pint!

Granada airport used to provide a very relaxed and hassle-free commute to the UK until Monarch and Ryanair pulled out.

Plenty of Spanish airports are relaxed and hassle free.

I reckon Coventry airport used to take some beating. A couple of Portacabins, a small lounge with two departure doors A & B both leading out onto the same bit of Tarmac and a bacon and egg bap to die for. Sadly no longer in operation.

We flew from there just the once. We were gobsmacked when we arrived to find lots of people with cases on the grass. We were dropped just there 20 paces from the terminal door. Kath sat on the cases and I went in to find out what was happening only to find the very small departure lounge crammed one flight at a time could get in. We were flight 3 so we had to wait our turn. Not long and we were called to check in and then allowed in. Good job it was not raining.

Big row about planning no extra flights no expansion of facilities so Thompson who had bought the airport gave up and went away. Shame really very close to us good motorway access. Ex bomber airfield so big long runway still used for freight big planes but only a few a day so just ticks over.

We must have been quite lucky, always arriving and going straight to checkout with no queueing and flying from there many times to Valencia, handy for us from Brum. Can't seem to find anything from Valencia to Birmingham now which would be our choice of airports from here.
