Brita Water Filters
There is a thread about brita in Spain forum but it's closed. Can someone
please tell me if the shops in Alicante sell the Brita filters? If so, which part of Alicante & how much does it cost? Is the water soft or hard in Alicante? Thanks. |
Re: Brita Water Filters
Thanks. Barcelona is too far from Alicante. Are there any shops near Almoradi which sell them? I don't like shopping online.

There used to be a man with a stall at the Pedregeur market that sold them. I'm not sure if the market is still there though.

Yes that's an indication of hard water. I've not immigrated to Spain yet & I try to get as much info about the area which I intend to live, as possible.
Where in Alicante, is Carrefour & do you know how much it is? Thanks. If you've got Spanish-style hard water your kettle is the least of your worries: ball cocks (no, please don't), non-return valves, taps, normal in-line water filters, gas water heaters:eek: you name it...... eugh:frown: |

Scientifically, I don't claim to know where on the ph scale the various types sit. But having lived in East Anglia, with scale seemingly growing in the kettle daily, and now experiencing the delights of Andaluz cal, I'd rather the Suffolk stuff any day!

Eroski and Il Corte Ingles also sell them because I´ve bought them there.

Re: Brita Water Filters
1. Shop around ! we found a €30 difference in various shops (Eroski most expensive)
2. Certainly work, we had occasion to buy a new coffee maker recently and after a few days a cal deposit was building in the jug, scoured it out and only use filtered water now and it remains perfect. |
Re: Brita Water Filters
I wouldn't waste your money. I know three people who have them and to be honest a cup of tea / coffee at their houses tastes awful.
We are lucky in that we have a natural spring (fuente) nearby. We go armed with a boot full of empty 5l bottles every 2 or 3 weeks and fill them for our kettle and never have to clean it out. |
