Default breakers yard near fuengirola

Hi, I have a 1998 volvo v70 which I no longer need due to retirement. I cant be asked to go through all the paper work and hassle of trying to sell it. The car is RHD on spanish plates. I have been told that breakers will collect cars, do all the peperwork and pay a small sum for the car. Can anyone please advise whether this is correct and if so whether there is a breakers yard near La Cala/Fuengirola. TIA

Metales Fuengirola has a location in Las Lagunas and covers the Mijas area, including providing collection services for "large quantities" of metals, which I assume would include a whole vehicle.

They also have an informative web site with contact information.

99% of tow truck drivers will take the car for free, and supply the "baja" certificate. I´m in alhaurin, but we use ones in malaga for work.

There are a couple of desguaces (scrapyards) in fuengerola too i think, and theres plenty of tow trucks driving about, just stop one and ask them. They get €100 for taking it there - you´ll only get the money if they "buy it" off you for scrapping.

Why would you give a car to a tow truck driver when you can sell it to a scrap yard?

Not all scrapyards will collect a car wheras a tow truck deal is hassle-free.
