Blinds for sun protection

Buying soon in Fuengirola, I am having a job to find a company who can supply (install only if necessary) external, electrically controlled, material/composite roller blinds. I stress exterior and material because many blinds are interior and most exterior blinds are metal. I can bit them in the U.K. but I would rather buy locally to avoid the car trip down from the U.K. I would welcome a pointer to where I could order.

This one is a bit of a no brainer....

If you buy them in the UK you will

1) Have the hassle of transporting them to Spain
2) Have to pay duty on them when you import them into Spain
3) If they are any warranty issues and you have to take them back you'll have the hassle of taking them back to the UK.

Sourced locally in Spain is the clear winner.

Out of curiosity, why in particular are you looking for material/composite roller blinds specifically?

Type Toldos Fuengirola into your search engine and quite a few businesses will come up.

Of course - these are snippets of information I already know about. That is why I asked the question of where, near fuengirola, I could find somewhere that I could buy some. Unless I specify material/composite (roller-compatible) I get people responding that they can supply roller blinds … but they are all metal. I really need blackout blinds that are electrically-operated (most usually with a rechargeable battery) that is enclosed in a cassette - and with side rails that guide the rolled material up and down. See Fakro VMZ window-awnings from Knall whose batteries are solar charged. They won’t ship or supply to Spain even though they are in the EU.

I suspect that most of the type of blind you want, or did want when you asked in December, will be, most likely, metal as material security blinds are not a lot of use. Vertical blinds for doors are almost always security blinds as are such blinds for windows. Material blinds are, usually, sun blinds to shade windows.

That is it exactly. I am not after any form of security blind … but a roller sun blind - preferably blackout - for the exterior of the property. I do not want internal blinds or curtains and need the cassette containing the motor, roller and weather resistant material fitted into an exterior internal window recess. Metal security rollers, no problem - but blackout material ones for external use don’t appear on anyone’s list. Due to the amount of South-facing sunlight, I had thought this was going to be easily do-able … but, apparently, not.

Depends on the property, but we had a big opening sun blind, the type that projects forward, installed on ours which protected the whole front windows and doorway.
