Blanket Trip - PAL Beds

Has anyone beed on a 'Blanket Trip' in Spain? This where a tour operator offers a 'free' excursion which includes a presentation about beds and blankets !!!!

They are quite popular and offer various products made from Marino Sheep Wool. If the beds are any good I'd like to buy one as I an fed up of my bed in Spain - hard as nails and came with the furniture pack. Any feedback welcome !

The wife and I went on a blanket trip a few years ago, much to our surprize it turned out to be a really good day. We went to the bed presentation and ended up buying a couple of Marino Sheep wool pillowcase covers, we have them on at the moment actually, I can thoroughly recommend them in the cold weather, never tried them in the heat but they are supposed to work the same.
As for the beds we thought that they were overpriced, actually the girl who was the courrier thought the same. We wanted a Tempur type of bed which we have in the UK, eventually we bought from DFS who are based in San Javier and paid half the price of what we had been previously quoted. We still have it, more than happy with it, its still very comfortable after almost four years.:)
Go on the trip though, we went through some of the mountain villages near to Benidorm and for a meal near to Guadalest, ended up back home around 7pm after a relaxing day.

If you are looking for a quality bed I would suggest a visit Almoradi (the home of furniture). We bought our beds complete with memory foam matresses in Hons Garcia on the road to Torrevieja  http://www.torrevieja.com/forums/gen...re-stores.html

I've been on quite a few, in both the Canaries and Mainland.
Only ever sat through one boring sales pitch and never bought a thing, usually just went walkabout instead.
Had some great trips, incl some superb full day ones in the Canaries which included a decent meal.
Enjoyed them all the more for being freebies. :sneaky::D

Hola,

From my repping days I know that they all work with holiday companies.... so if you're near a holiday area that Thomsons, First Choice, Thomas Cook etc. work in, find their head office phone number or pop into a local hotel and get the number from the holiday folder or notice board......they get a commission on the folks they send on the blanket trip.... so would have info...

If you live near a large hotel in a holiday resort there may even be a blanket trip folder in the reps room...

They are overpriced, after all someone has to pay for the trip etc, and that someone is the customer, get your bed from a bed shop where you can see and try it, better one of the spanish shops rather than the brit shops, we bought toppers from Carrefour, actually matresses that came rolled, very comfortable.

We have the pillows and blankets and under blankets, exspensive but we really like them, a friend bought a bed, it was slightly damaged when she recieved it, she rang for them to refund her and pick it up, they did refund her, but never picked up the bed and she has been using it ever since, she is a very happy customer too :)
You don't have to buy if you go on the trip.
