The Blacklist - unexpected ending!

I don't know how many forum members have watched all 10 series of the popular TV show:-

'The Blacklist is an American crime thriller television series created by Jon Bokenkamp and developed by John Eisendrath. It stars James Spader as Raymond Reddington, one of the Most Wanted fugitives who cooperates with the FBI in hunting down threatening criminals.'

I thought the plot was something different even if it did get a bit confusing at times!

Anyway, it has ended - in a somewhat unexpected way - and why this post? well, believe me, it is relevant and can't say more without spoilers!

If you thought he would be put in prison or shot dead like lizzy or shot and killed by the fbi then you did not get him at all. He was always going out his way - plus they kinda hinted that he was sick...

there are spoilers in the above?
Surprised the series has not been discussed in What are you watching right now? section of this forum.

Enjoy it while you can; I think we will be watching re-runs until at least early next year if they keep striking in Hollywood..

Thanks for the link - didn't know that thread existed!

Yes, I picked up the hints that he was terminally ill - but still say the actual ending was unexpected!
