Best lakes to live by in Andalucia?

We like the white mountainous villages, eg Iznajar. I realise they are really reservoirs.
Trying to research the best balance, eg water quality / nice restaurants in village and lakeside / distance from Malaga or Marbella airport / shops & facilities, incl a High School.
Any advice based on experience would be helpful, thanks.

Most wellknown is probably Iznájar but the idea of lake living like you have in Northern Europe or Italy is not available in that part of the country. You could call them lakes but they are really reservoirs. Just enter reservoirs Andalucia on Google Maps and you can walk the areas.

I realise they're reservoirs. I have them on Googlemaps; what these forums are great for is asking for experienced opinion.

Lovely place for a day out - it's about 2 hours from Marbella so about 90 minutes to Malaga airport and the city . Excellent restaurant overlooking the reservoir , Casa Juani . We used to go for a swim , a walk and lunch. Village itself , historically interesting but lacks resources .To live somewhere like Antequera much better if you want to be in the countryside but not too far from Malaga and the reservoir.

Just saying. Since you are thinking of buying a B&B, there won't be that many areas that will attract people unless it's like a camping parque by the lake or close to Caminito del Rey. Being near the coast would probably be wiser or maybe look at other parts of Spain. If you are semi retired , why is a High School important?
