Berthing boat between Alicante and Valencia?
Hello, I'm after some advice please. When we move out to Javea, we will need to berth our boat nearby ideally. Does anybody have experience of availability or the best berthing costs in the area please? Thanks in anticipation. John

I have no idea about your area but down here Costa de La Luz bloomimg expensive ! The Junta ones are over 5000 a year for 35ft and I was told that does not now include your water and electric ! I have a boat I need to sell so must start looking again for places to advertise her.

Hi john and Jill,
we have a house in Javea and used to keep our boat in Denia, basically its very expensive. Costs depend on the size of boat, very little hope of getting into Javea as its so small, dead mans shoes so forget there. The costs in the province of Alicante/ Valencia have an annual tax call G5 levied depends on the size of your boat. For example our 45 foot yacht was around 10,000 Euros plus 1500 G5 plus water and electric per year so we moved to Cartagena, so much cheaper and long term includes water and electric. Its a lovely community here although its a 2 hour drive from Javea. If you become a resident you will be liable for a tax on your boat too, they decide how much normally 12% of the boat value. Also you have to take qualifications in Spanish. Be careful We are about to leave Spain on our boat to the Caribbean so we wont have a problem when my husband retires.
