Why do bar/café owners allow them onto the premises when you are eating? "No thank you , I don't want a Elephant, DVDs, CDs, Caps, Polo shirt, Watch, Suinglasses....no thank you. 2mins later here they come again "Boss you want an Elephant...good CDs" No thank you Sir!.............

You get up and walk out after informing the owner why you are leaving.

The restaurants here seem to allow them in on the understanding that if people are eating that they should not bother them but if they are not eating it is alright to approach them. Also I have noticed that they rarely approach a woman who is sitting alone.

Seen him many times over the last ten years, still trying to get that flight home.

Yes he has been there some years tried me a while back with a negative result.
As for the looky looky men, I prefer them to the accordion player etc that can,t play a note trying to serenade us.

Richest country in the world, the USA. Har har. I'd tell you how skint they are but the time you read it they'll be more skint.

If you saw the clock a long time ago, why, today, do you think the USA is a rich country?

Last time I checked, rich meant having lots of money. The USA has none [that it hasn't borrowed and has to give back, plus some].

They don't shut off help to those who need it because they don't care, they do it because they're broke.

If someone has a lot of debt then it usually means that they are very rich ;)

The US debt clock is equivalent to about 1 year's GDP for the US i.e. it is pretty similar to the debt of the UK or Spain in relative terms

The US is many negative things, but it does have a lot of money flying around there. That doesnt mean that they give it to the people who may need or deserve it of course...It is mainly kept within the 100 richest families in the US. Well, a bit like Europe really without the social welfare safety net

Off thread but as we are debating the USA, I must say I have found the people of Seattle to be amongst the politest and helpful of any largish city I have visited.
Even the cyclists!
