BATTLE IN SPAINS TOWN HALLS

Re: BATTLE IN SPAINS TOWN HALLS
I always compare Spain in may ways to the UK back in the sixties. Especially in Birmingham through the sixties, seventies and into the eighties more and more immigrants moved into the area and established their "areas". Then slowly they began to run for town council or as an MP as they realised that they wanted "their" people to represent them.
And now in Spain It will be interesting to see what the political landscape will be in 15 - 20 years time in Spain. I bet there will be a huge number of "foreign" representatives, and the Spanish will be complaining bitterly about it!!!!

well I went out and cast my vote this morning, plenty of other Brits doing the same from the voices I heard in the queue.

More here.

"The La Marina residential development near San Fulgencio, a couple of miles inland, is a strange and fascinating place.
Locals say that it is the largest of its kind in Spain, if not Europe. And judging by the five cranes hovering over the high-density mish-mash of architectural styles, it is still growing, with or without planning permission.
Typically Spanish it is not. Garden gnomes bask on front porches in the midday heat and elderly men in shorts walk collie dogs, perhaps later enjoying a burger and a pint at Dreams Bar".
Makes you wonder why they ever left Britain :curse:
