bats in spain
Hi.. is anyone able to identify a bat that seems to like our roof space? It is apparently small and has an orangey mane. We are quite happy to have it as a resident, just wondered what sort it is! Our place is up in the hills by Sayalonga. Thanks very much.

When we first bought our flat we had an overnight visiter that we think was a fruit bat - it roosted ( or is it rousted ) on our balcony ( do bats roost ? )
The construction work from Guardamar Manhattan soon saw it depart

I was lying in my bed and thought, bloody hell thats a big moth, then, I thought a bird was in my room and lo behold it was a bat.....after getting it out, I got back into bed and found I had another one in my room....I should probably have put on Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell on the cd player at this point....thankfully I think they were only a courting couple and no baby bats...

I hope this one stays in the roof space.. if that had been me I am afraid I would have out and halfway up the mountainside! If I had realised it was a bat it would have been okay but if I had thought it was a moth... that is a totally different matter!!
