Ayamonte marina

Just been on boat trip up to Ayamonte from Tavira, and couldn't find anywhere to moor for a few hours. In the marina you need a key code or electronic key to get out. Anyone know where is legit to park up there ?
Cheers.

Anchoring in the river is free.
There are also a number of pontoons further up. The first one is off the Quinta de Vale golf resort. Very warm welcome but facilities limited and a bit of a walk away.
After that you will need to go to Foz de Odeliete where there is a small village and there are also a couple of other pontoons off villages further up where it is free.
Some 20 mile up river you will come to Alcoutim in Portugal or Sanlucar de Guadiana in Spani where there are pontoons. Here there is a charge for overnighting.
Further up again there is a pontoon at Pomerao and another even further on just a few miles short of Mertola.

There is nowhere apart from the marinas in either Ayamonte or Vila Real where you can secure alongside. The police will chase you off.

Have fun

We´ve moored a couple of times in between the fishing dock and the fueling station for a few hours without problems. You have to ask though...
Also you should not forget about the tides when you moor there!
